Web Design
Our bread and butter here at Hood Web Management is web design. Our specialty is clean, simple and attractive sites – exactly the kind you need as a small business to convince your customers you’re a serious contender for their business.
Just like the site you’re looking at now, we start with a simple and attractive layout that integrates your company’s logo and color scheme. We take the information you give us – hours of business, contact information, “about us,” and more – and create the online presence that your business needs and deserves.
Typical turn around for a basic web site design takes a few days, and from there we take your comments and suggestions and proceed to tweak and adjust your site to your specifications. Overall design process from start to finish can take anywhere from a week to a month depending on number of changes made to the initial design, but we maintain an open line of communication throughout the process and strive to answer all of your questions and concerns throughout the process.
Additionally, all of the sites we design come standard with on-site Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Click the link for more information on what this consists of, but in a nutshell SEO is the art and science of designing a site to rank higher in search results. Higher ranking sites get more traffic, and more traffic means more customers learning about your business for FREE. As you can imagine SEO is key to an effective web presence. We make sure your site is fully optimized for search engine traffic to find you.
The “Technical Stuff”: Most of our designs are created using a content management system called Wordpress. It’s a stable and free piece of software and is widely-renowned for its ease of use and versatility. At your request we can also create static HTML sites if you prefer. Our range of design abilities is focused on a few core technologies: HTML, CSS, and PHP. We occasionally integrate other technologies such as Javascript when necessary, but since search engines prefer sites with easy-to-read coding, we tend to stay away from excessive use of Javascript and Flash technology.
